The purpose of the Mock Trial Team is to better understand the legal system, develop critical thinking skills, practice public speaking, and have fun! It is open to all students. We usually have two teams. One team is typically younger and less experienced, and the other team is older and perhaps wiser. There is an informational meeting at the end of October, and teams are formed. Tryouts for certain roles, such as attorney or witness, take place before Christmas. Formal practice begins after the Winter Break. Teams practice after school at the Federal Court House twice per week until competitions are held.
