The Greens Club is open to all students interested in protecting the environment, learning more about environmental concerns and actively working to protect our environment. We often work with Shreveport Green in the clean-up and anti-litter campaigns, as well as recycling efforts. We are presently working on "Return the Warmth" recycling project which is a national program for the recycling of plastic water/soda bottles for the purpose of making jackets and backpacks for children. In addition to this and other service oriented projects, we regularly visit Sci-Port and take trips to Walter B. Jacobs Nature Park for nature walks. Recently the Club did a presentation for neighboring school, Stoner Hill Elementary to help with the beautification of their campus and teach their students how to care for plants. Our CMHS campus has benefited from our Tree Planting efforts and beautification projects. Dues are $5 a year with meetings 3rd activity period in room A-1.
