Band Practice

CONCERT BAND

The fee for Concert Band is $70. The grading policy for Concert Band is as follows:
1. Participation 30% overall grade
2. Test 20% overall grade
3. Performance 30% overall grade
4. Semester Exam 20% overall grade

JAZZ BAND

The fee for Jazz Band is $15 The Grading Policy for Jazz Band is as follows:
1. Participation 35% overall grade
2. Test 15% overall grade
3. Performance 30% overall grade
4. Semester Exam 20 % overall grade

The Participation Grades are based on the student's daily participation. There are 10 points per day given for participation. The Test Grades are determined by the student's individual performance on skill performance evaluations. Both playing and written tests will be incorporated to determine the student's progress. Each test will be graded on a 100-point scale. The Performance Grades are based on the student's performance participation. Performances shall include, but are not limited to, concerts both during and after school, and band festivals. The Semester Exam is a written exam as required by the CPSB. Basic music terminology and theory are included on this test.
